BRITTEN KILDUFF

Grants Committee

Britten Kilduff (brittenkilduff@gmail.com) is a Reiki master, a business owner, an avid traveler, and a Lyme advocate. In her previous life, she was an executive corporate recruiter in the high-tech industry.

Growing up in Vermont instilled a deep love of everything outdoors. Hiking, camping, and working at a Girl Scout Camp in northern Vermont for seven years allowed Britten to work with and inspire a love of her amazing home state with the newest generation of its stewards. Enjoying music festivals around New England, especially over the summer months, is also a way to combine two of Britten’s loves; live music and the great outdoors. Some of the most important medicine for your soul!

This love of nature, and spending so much time within it, had an almost hidden danger. Although there was a bullseye with the first bite in 1989, little to no education was available to Dr’s at that time regarding Lyme and other tick-borne infections. Even when Lyme was suspected a few years later, the available testing showed negative results time and time again. For almost 30 years a tick bite resulted in a medical puzzle that took decades and a myriad of medical professionals to solve. Through working with the Dean Center for Tick-Borne Illness at Spaulding and other professionals, her physical and mental functionality is returning. Britten has seen first-hand how powerful it is to work with an excellent team of people, and she wants to pay it forward by helping others to find similar support and information.

One of the positives that have come from this journey with Lyme is that it enabled Britten to hone her skills in healing modalities for mind, body, and soul. The daily ritual of Reiki and meditation as well as the use of medical cannabis, has helped tremendously After trying a muscle rub from Colorado and noticing a sharp decrease in muscle spasms Britten started making her own for personal use. Soon after she developed tinctures to minimize/slow seizures and address pain. As doctors saw the results from her kitchen alchemy sessions, they urged her to share them with others. Budacious Naturals was created, which proudly serves the chronically ill population with a side of therapy from a fellow warrior.
